TEXIT Party

Have the neighbors over. Talk about Texas.

A TEXIT Party is an evening in your living room: supper first, then a conversation about Texas independence. You host it. We give you the poster, the invitations, a trivia round, and an outline for the night.

How a party works

  1. Step 1

    Pick a night

A weeknight after supper or a Saturday afternoon. Plan on about two hours, and room for eight to twenty people.

  2. Step 2

    Fill in your poster

Type your name, the date, and your town. Print the poster and the invitations, then hand them out on your street and at church.

  3. Step 3

    Run the evening

Food first. Then a round of Texas trivia, then half an hour of talk about why Texas independence matters to you. The host guide walks you through it.

  4. Step 4

    End with the Declaration

Before people head home, show them the Declaration. It's free, and it's how a Texan goes on record.

The kit is free

Everything prints on a home printer. Nothing to order, nothing to pay for.

What a TEXIT Party isn't

It isn't a political party.
"Party" here means the kind with food. It has no platform, no ballot line, and no officers.
It isn't a campaign event.
Don't invite candidates to speak, and don't hand out campaign material. The evening is about Texas, not about an election.
It isn't a fundraiser.
Don't pass a hat or sell anything. Guests bring a dish if you ask them to, and that's all.
It isn't a hard sell.
Neighbors who disagree are as welcome as neighbors who agree. Nobody has to decide anything that night.
